Susan offers specialized Team Building events in Wrightsville Beach, NC and partners with Sea Gate Boating to offer customized excursions such as its most popular and most requested team building event, Scavenger Hunt by Boat.
The Scavenger Hunt by Boat
The team wins when each group does its part! We have accommodated teams as large as 30 people, creating five groups of six people, each with its own boat and its own captain. We can custom create this event to the number of people you have on your team.
Team members participate in training with their captain to learn their particular role during the event, such as BOAT DRIVER, NAVIGATOR, ANCHORER or COMMUNICATIONS. Each teams gets its own set of coordinates and clues and sets out to explore the Intracoastal Waterways and its barrier islands to find more clues. Ultimately each team will overcome challenges to find its part of the final coordinates and together the coordinates will lead the entire team to one destination where the final treasure is to be found.
To celebrate teamwork, teams are treated to some island fun, including beach games like volleyball, cornhole, bocce ball and horseshoes. Kayaks are also available on the island topped off with a Low Country Boil and bonfire.

OCEANFRONT ACCOMMODATIONS at WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH – The Blockade Runner Beach Resort hosts many of our teams at its newly renovated oceanfront resort. Meeting space is available, as well as an onsite restaurant, a service-oriented staff, beautiful grounds and gardens surrounding its pool and bar area, and direct access to the beach. Located directly beside the hotel is its yellow “beach cottage” that some groups choose to use for either meeting space or accommodations.
In addition, the Blockade Runner provides dock access so that we can pick up our guests and return them by boat for our team building events. We also provide boat cruises to and from some of our recommended, local restaurants on the water such as Bluewater and Bridgetender.
